The Shamanic drum - deep, ancient, and wise!
A drum carries a long-forgotten rhythm which is now returning to the earth. A drum carries a frequency that can transport people into the subconscious mind and reconnect the heart. Importantly, it carries your soul's intention.
For me, painting an expression of you onto your drum is a journey in itself. Each one is lovingly painted by my hand, intuitively and specifically for the unique soul it will be played by.
I don't simply paint a design; this is a listening process for both of us.
I connect with you, with your intention for your drum, and with the guidance from helping spirits that comes through as the artwork begins to reveal itself through the paint and my hands.
The result is a unique sacred art piece - a drum that carries your soul’s expression, symbolism, and energy.
Your Drum Expression begins with a conversation
Your drum painting always begins with a conversation. I can paint both Remo or skin drums, but I will wish to speak with you in the first instance for a commission.
We will explore what is calling you to this drum expression, what you would like it to represent, and anything you feel particularly drawn to (symbols, animals, elements, colours, ancestral connections, places, words, or intentions).
From there, I will begin the sacred process of creating. Before I paint, I create space to clear and connect with your drum and your soul. I listen intuitively for what wants to come through rather than beginning with a predetermined design.
The painting then unfolds by hand, layer by layer. I work slowly and intuitively, allowing the imagery to emerge as the process develops. Some elements may be immediately clear. Others reveal themselves as the painting progresses.
A Sacred Soul Drum Journey includes:
An initial conversation to explore your connection with the drum and set up delivery and collection
Space to share your intentions and anything you feel called to bring into the process
A drum journey Karen will undertake to connect with your soul essence
Your drum being personally and lovingly hand-painted with sacred symbolism and imagery intuitively woven into the design
Photographs or updates as your drum journey unfolds
A final reveal once the painting is complete
Collection or carefully arranged delivery of your completed drum
